Publicity
It's fun to build up a little excitement before I come for a visit, especially in schools or libraries. If the program is open to the public, it's very important to reach out and attract listeners. So do try some of these ideas.
Make Displays
A bright display or two in the halls can help create interest in my visit. You can use:
Articles
about my work (write Cathy for copies)
Printouts from my web site
including information/pictures about my books, in Books, and a little about my life, from Bio
Pictures
by children, downloaded from my site, or from a snail mail PR kit, including:
- illustrations inspired by my books
- flowers - two sizes of colorful Japanese images
- line drawing - black and white vine motif
- leafy border - a black and white Indian border
- higher resolution color photo of Cathy.
Post Flyers
Today, anyone can turn out a great flyer, in color or black and white. You can even copy pages from my books and just tape a notice under them with the program info. If you will be selling my books, you'll want to make a flyer to send home with information. Please contact my assistant, Diane, ( or 206-567-4620) for more details on book orders and sales.
Use Press Kits
Email for my latest press kit, to reach out to local media.
Thank you for your help!
